So, we walked in, and camp was gonna take place on the other field we were told, so we found a spot to stand (i sat on the ground) and I quickly realized how much my pictures were going to suck so we moved to the bleachers for a better viewing area. Which worked well, bc they didn't have many people there and we could move around like we wanted.
Stretches....I don't watch anyone else, just Cam Jordan....bc he doesn't stretch. He kinda observes and does his own thing. Notice everyone else in the picture is doing the same thing...not Cam hes original! Again, hes gonna thrive in Spags system!
We had a good view of Drew and the WR's. They worked quite awhile right infront of us so I was able to get some good shots of the offense. Brees looked good one-on-one with the guys. Its amazing to me to watch him lean back and throw the ball down the field. Look even McCown was impressed ;)
Lance and Joe making catches while working with Drew, Chase, and company. From what I read Joe dropped passes today but while i was there i didn't see him drop anything. The chemistry between Lance and Drew is easy to see. I think Lance might out due Colston this yr with TD's!
Andy Tanner makes this team. I still haven't seem him drop a ball yet in camp. He makes plays and makes the best of his opportunities. Before we had to leave he was working on special teams and (who i assume was) the special teams coach was spending extra time with Andy as a gunner. So maybe Roby gets that #4 WR spot and they try to make Andy a gunner. The coach was telling him to go with his gut, and if it felt right to do it.
I'm very interested in seeing Marquis Clark in some gametime action. He has good hands also. He wont make the team, but maybe the saints can play him so another team can get a look at him.
The RB's came over to get some work in with Drew also. Pierre was himself in practice. But seeing this guy in gametime situations is amazing to me. The yards after contact the he racks up is incredible. He wont go down after the first hit. He runs with purpose and heart!
Travaris Cadet needs to make this team! He is a younger, cheaper, better version of Chris Ivory!
He has good hands, is tough, and finds holes. Here are my current issues with Chris. Health!!! Ball security!! HEALTH!! And the fact that the 2 games I've watched him play so far this preseason he runs straight into the line-man. FIND A LANE CHRIS! Oh, and he fumbles....
DB DRILLS!! These were fun to watch and we had a great view (not alot of pics bc refs and other players always got in my way for my "money shot")
Johnny Patrick did ok in these drills we watched. He had good coverage on both Henderson and Morgan on these plays.
My fav. part of the day was from Jabari Greer! Even though he is injured he was still helping our boys. During DB drills he was coaching up the young players and letting them know what they did wrong and praising them when they did right! He was very vocal today! Even yelling out "We Ballin' outchea" when one of the DB's (Johnson) made a play! It was great to see him still wanting to contribute even though he couldnt physically get on the field and play!
The last series of 3 pictures was a great play. Lance had Johnny Patrick running all over the endzone and Johnny stayed with him. A perfectly thrown Brees (i think) pass got through Johnny P's hand to Lance. Lance gave us a little celebration dance after that one!
We Left shortly after this. We caught a little bit of special teams drills. Thomas Morstead was booming his punts of course, no one could return them, so a coach would have to throw in a ball so they could practice the return. It was actually quite entertaining. That's how my camp yr ended. Bittersweet! I'm very blessed to be able to be a stay-at-hom mommy and be able to make the 3 that i did. Our boys look good this yr and I'm pretty excited about what this yr will bring!!
See ya in the DOME :)
